When you walk in the Out of the Darkness Walks, you join the effort with hundreds of thousands of people to raise awareness and funds that allow the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) to invest in new research, create educational programs, advocate for public policy, and support survivors of suicide loss.
Thanks to Walkers and Donors, The American foundation for suicide prevention (www.AFSP.org) has been able to set a goal to reduce the annual suicide rate 20% by 2025.
While the Out of the Darkness Walks in New Hampshire are going to look different this year, our mission to Save Lives and Bring Hope to Those Affected by Suicide has not changed. We are a strong and resilient community, united in our effort to fight suicide, raise awareness, educate our communities, support those who have lost loved ones, and support those with lived experience. We use our voices and share our stories to provide hope.

*In an effort to ensure participant safety and to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus, we are unable to host a traditional event with hundreds of walkers in attendance. Participants will be assigned a 20 to 30 minute block of time to visit the walk site to access resources, collect honor beads and turn in any donations that have been collected offline. This will also be an opportunity for participants raising $150 or more to pick up your 2020 Commemorative T-shirt. Although we cannot “walk” together, we encourage everyone to walk, run, jog, hike or any experience of your choice at a time and location that is convenient for you.
