DESCRIPTION:IMPORTANT NOTICE:\nOut of an abundance of caution\, and to assist with our nation’s and our community’s preventive efforts to undertake all possible measures to safeguard the health of the public\, Reds Race organizers regret to announce that Reds Race 2020 has been cancelled.\nThe safety and security of race participants and spectators is our highest priority\, and in canceling Reds Race 2020\, we are following the lead of our city\, state\, and federal elected officials as well as the recommendations of the Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).\nThank you for your patience and understanding during this uncertain time\, and join us as we look forward to Reds Race 2021.\n  \n2020 REDS RACE FOR A BETTER COMMUNITY\n39th Annual Reds 5 Mile Road Race & 2.4 Mile Walk \nJoin us 10am Sunday\, April 5\, 2020 \n  \nLIKE REDS RACE ON FACEBOOK! \nREDS RACE 2020 REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN! \n  \n2020 marks the 39th running of the annual Reds Road Race! \nReds Race for a Better Community is a timed 5 mile road race and an un-timed 2.4 mile walking course. The event is open to anyone who wants to run or walk to raise money for six local non-profits who provide important services in Strafford County\, and to anyone who just wants to have fun and be a part of the spectacle! \nSince its inception 39 years ago\, Reds Race has grown to become one of Dover’s most anticipated\, prestigious and historic road races\, and a hugely successful annual charity fundraiser that strengthens the community by raising money for six local non-profits who provide important services to many of Strafford County’s most vulnerable residents. \n  \nReds Road Race 2020 benefits these local non-profits who\, along with the Rochester Runners Club\, help organize the race and provide volunteers to help conduct the race: \nCommunity Action Partnership of Strafford County \nCommunity Partners \nDover Adult Learning Center \nMonarch School of New England \nSeymour Osman Community Center \nWoodman Park Elementary Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) \n  \nReds Race participants include serious runners\, recreational joggers and walkers\, individuals\, groups\, families and community members of all ages and abilities. It’s a challenging and beautiful course and a historic annual event that brings the community together for a great cause and a good time. \nThis year Reds Race is the third race in the popular Dover Race Series. \nReds Race is a great way to get outside\, shake off winter and celebrate Spring. SUMMARY:2020 Classical Piano Concert to Benefit the Judy Mettee Institute
DESCRIPTION:IMPORTANT NOTICE: Out of an abundance of caution\, and to assist with federal\, state and local recommendations and CDC guidelines to safeguard the health of the public\, the 2020 Classical Piano Concert to Benefit the Judy Mettee Institute has been cancelled.Thank you for your patience and understanding during this uncertain time.\nCancelled: An afternoon of classical piano at the Community Church in Durham\, NH to benefit the Judy Mettee Institute at Community Partners! \n \nPerforming will be Catherine York\, a New Hampshire native and three time winner of the Granite State Piano Competition (1981\, 1983\, 1984). Catherine is a 1988 graduate of the New England Conservatory of Music\, and a winner in the New England Conservatory Honors Piano Competition (1988). Ms. York was a semi-finalist in the Stravinsky Awards International Piano Competition in 1989\, and won the Commonwealth Competition for Young Pianists in 1991. She was the Guest Composer at Cornell University Center For Theatre Arts in Ithaca\, NY\, where she was also assistant choirmaster at Sage Chapel. In 1992 she was one of four national finalists in the Chicago Club of Women Organists Competition. Ms. York was the Resident Music Director and Director of Music Education at the Beck Center for the Arts in Cleveland\, Ohio before returning to NH 2003. In 2005 her piano trio won the Chamber Music Foundation of New England’s International Chamber Ensemble Competition and performed at Carnegie Hall. Between 2007-2010 Ms. York was Music Director at Prescott Park Arts Festival and from 2010 to 2014 she was Music Director at the Seacoast Repertory Theatre in Portsmouth. In 2014 she joined the staff at Community Church Durham. She has also released an album\, Comfort & Joy: Piano Improvisations for Christmas  available on Amazon\, iTunes and Spotify. \nThe Judy Mettee Institute (JMI) was developed to honor the work\, dedication and memory of Judy Mettee\, a longtime member of the Community Partners family.
